What's on the weekly memory stick


The weekly Swindon Talking Newspaper helps blind and visually impaired listeners to keep in touch with the local community. For housebound listeners, the talking newspaper can provide a sense of belonging in the wider community with familiar and friendly voices in the home each week.

The news section contains articles from Swindon's daily newspaper the Swindon Advertiser. The articles are taken from the issues of the previous week leading up to recording day. There are usually four newsreaders each week, providing a variety of voices.

There are also regular weekly features such as What's On, Sport, and Thought for the Week, and features of general interest including sport, local history and interviews; plus articles, interviews and information produced specifically for visually impaired people from the BBC, RNIB and Infosound.
