What's
on the weekly memory stick
The Swindon and District Talking Newspaper helps blind, partially sighted and
disabled listeners to keep in touch with the local community. For housebound
listeners, the talking newspaper can provide a sense of belonging in the
wider community with familiar and friendly voices in the home each fortnight.
The news section contains articles from Swindon's daily newspaper the Swindon
Advertiser. The articles are taken from the issues of the previous fortnight
leading up to recording day. There are usually two to four newsreaders each
fortnight, providing a variety of voices.
There are also regular features such as What's On, Sport, and local news, and
features of general interest including local history and interviews; plus
articles, interviews and information produced specifically for listeners from
TNF Soundings.
