    Compilation tapes for listeners

Some of the features for Side 2 have to be broken down into reasonable lengths for the weekly tape but some of these features work better as a whole, for example the special Christmas tape, interviews, and guided visits. To avoid generating ‘junk’ mail these are only sent out on request. Listeners are provided with metal shapes. The main weekly tape gives details of compilation tapes as they become available. If listeners are interested they are asked to return a particular shape, e.g. the triangle. They will then receive the compilation tape with the following week’s normal tape.

    Other Tapes for Listeners

We can sometimes offer listeners tapes produced by other organisations, for example the Marks and Spencer catalogue, or local or national government information. Again readers use their shapes to request the additional tapes.

The Association’s Annual General Meeting is made available on cassette.

    Tapes produced for other organisations

The Swindon talking Newspaper Association produces audio versions of documents and brochures on behalf of various national organisations, which they distribute independently to their members. Pension and staff newsletters are a couple of examples of the work we have undertaken.
