The Future
The Association started by producing cassette tapes in 1982 but it has long
been realised that it is not well known in the community. Potential
listeners either have not heard of the service, or believe it is only
available to those who are registered as blind or partially sighted. It is
essential in the future that local people know all about this local
service. This website is part of our publicity initiative. Each generation has learnt to use the ‘latest’ technology such as
records, tapes, CD’s, or computers and this technology will develop in the
future and the Association must keep up with our listener’s requirements.
Since 2010 the Talking Newspaper has been sent out to listeners on a memory stick.
Eventually we may also be able to put our weekly tape out via this website.
